24th March 2012

Late Liwale district commissioner (DC), Paulo ChiwileLiwale district commissioner (DC) Paulo Chiwile has died, while at Vision Guest House, where he was resting before attending a meeting with fellow DCs.

Chiwile was to join other DCs from Kilwa, Nachingwea and Luangwa.

According to Lindi regional commissioner (RC) Ludovick Mwananzila, Chiwile died, while in his room at the same guest house.

He was found dead in the morning, when his driver went to take him for the meeting.

The RC said when the driver reached at the guest house, he asked one of the attendants to knock at the DC’s door but there was no response.

“That is when the driver decided to report the matter to the RC that his boss was not waking up,” said Mwananzila.

After he was informed about the DC’s situation, the RC who is the Defence and Security Committee chairman for the region, went with a team of the committee members to the room.

When they arrived, they knocked at the door but in vain before attempting to break the door.

As they entered the room, the committee found the DC already dead. “He was just normal,” said Mwananzila. Later his body was taken to Lindi Referral Hospital for further examination.
